Waterford Greenway
The Waterford Greenway is a haven for those looking to unwind. Running from Waterford City to Dungarvan, the Greenway offers 46 glorious car-free kilometres to explore. The views throughout are nothing short of spectacular and there are plenty of refreshment stops en route for those looking to make a day of it. It’s a shared use Greenway, which means that people are allowed to cycle, walk and run, you can even bring your dog, as long as he/she is on a lead.
Distance: 46km off road
Best section: Kilmacthomas to Dungarvan
Cycle time: Allow a full day to make the most of it
Elevation: Almost entirely flat route
Tips while you’re in the area…
Break for a pick-me-up at Coach House Coffee (at the historic Famine Workhouse development in Kilmacthomas). In this impressive old building, you can grab a quick coffee and a tasty treat – or stay for lunch and choose from delicious sandwiches, burgers, salads and more. Well worth a stop!While away a few hours at Waterfords Viking Triangle in the city enjoying free concerts every Friday and Saturday over the summer months.
